Marmalade is famous for it's delicious Yam Fries, Black 'n Blue Burger, Mayfair Salad and Blueberry Cheesecake. We have at least one of these dishes during our client meetings every week. This is a great spot for great food with a fantastic view - especially when the sun is out. Bring your laptop and work while you enjoy the view of the Marina. Christina - www.thewestend.ca

This place claims a London inspiration, so with the name you might be expecting Paddington Bear as your server, but the joint turns out to be snazzier than that. Sleek like my Arrow Mach II partially synthetic shirt and on that note the retro-modern design has a mod leaning, shades of Petula Clark singing England Swings coming to mind. The patio is where it's at, waterside to False Creek and for eats there are a series of London-themed dish titlings. Chelsea Flair features wild sockeye with red onion marmalade, Knightsbridge Chic offers up half a garlic and herb roasted game hen and the Soho Stylie is pan-seared halibut with warm nugget potatoes. The Brits know their 'taters and their titles.

Selling point: Retro-modern décor and great False Creek patio view make this a pleasantly suave place to linger over a weekend brunch.

What to eat: Try one of the three eggs benny varieties with either smoked salmon, spinach or the more classic affair. On a classic note there's also a classic French omelette and toast with two different add-on ingredient options or a classic English breakfast featuring Lancashire bacon, baked beans, Cumberland sausage, eggs and portobello mushrooms. If that doesn't grab your fancy, hit the pancake stack or the banana French toast.
